Greater Fort Wayne launches campaign to create ‘best-in-class’ city with video

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Local economic development driver Great Fort Wayne Inc. released a video Thursday to showcase its 10-year vision, focused on five major projects it hopes will transform Fort Wayne into a “best-in-class city.”

The video, titled Opportunity on the Edge of Greatness, tells a story of civic pride that the narrator suggests began with the construction of Parkview Field. The project led to major investment in downtown Fort Wayne that the video says is proof positive of a momentum shift.

Greater Fort Wayne will use five new projects to keep that momentum moving – the downtown arena, the revitalized Landing, the downtown riverfront, the GE campus and STEAM Park. All told, the video said the city is poised for greatness, and the five projects will encourage new investment and create new jobs to that end.

“This video demonstrates our commitment to growth and community pride in Fort Wayne and Allen County,” CEO Eric Doden said. “It proves who we are as a community, what makes us great, and where we’re going.”

Greater Fort Wayne said it will present the video to site selectors and businesses outside the area when recruiting them for growth or expansion opportunities in Fort Wayne and Allen County.

The organization said that since May, more than 1,800 community members have supported its vision by signing a pledge to support the projects.
