HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) A vehicle crashed through a Huntington jewelry store midday Wednesday.

Police and medics were called around 12:10 p.m. Wednesday to Bowers Jewelers at 1 Parkmoor Drive, at the intersection with Jefferson Street. Dispatchers told NewsChannel 15 a vehicle crashed into a building there.

Firefighters at the scene told NewsChannel 15 that a woman had her vehicle in reverse in the parking lot when, for an unknown reason, she sped back and crashed into the store. The car slammed into a display case inside the store, officials said.

The woman was not hurt and no one in the store was injured.

Investigators are not sure how or why the incident happened. It’s not clear how much merchandise was damaged in the store.

A picture provided to NewsChannel 15 showed a silver vehicle with its back end up, crashed through the side of the building. Several Huntington Police squad cars were on the scene, along with an ambulance.
