Heavy duty trucks began working in the empty lot at West Wayne and Webster streets, where the $40 million mixed-use Skyline Tower will rise in the coming months. The development will feature 124 apartments over nine floors, as well as 170,000 square feet of retail and office space. Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse has committed to anchor the ground-level retail space.

“Skyline Tower is a tremendous addition to the heart of our City,” said Henry. “I continue to be encouraged by the progress we’re seeing throughout Fort Wayne. We’re strengthening our position as a point of destination where individuals, families, and business want to invest. By working together, we’re attracting and retaining jobs as a community moving in the right direction.”

The retail and office spaces and upper five floors of apartments are expected to be completed in early 2018. The remaining residential portion should be completed in mid-summer 2018.
