Person walks into hospital seriously hurt after shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – One person was seriously hurt after an early morning shooting.

Police were called to the 900 block of Forest Ave., near North Side Park, around 3 a.m. Sunday. Someone called 911 and reported shots fired. A short time later someone walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim was seriously hurt.

Police at the scene said they believe the person at the hospital was shot on Forest Ave.

Shell casings were found around the area. A parked car was also struck by gunfire.

The shooting investigation was the second within 4 hours. The first incident happened on Colerick Street around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night.
