College basketball teams come together for ‘Coaches vs. Cancer’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Coaches and players from Fort Wayne, Saint Francis and Indiana Tech’s men’s basketball teams came together at the Gates Center Sunday for the second annual Coaches vs. Cancer Kids Clinic.

Coaches Jon Coffman, Chad LaCross, and Jon Peckinpaugh helped to put together the clinic for kids along with their players. All of the money raised from the event goes to the American Cancer Society.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The initiative leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of basketball coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fund-raising activities, and advocacy programs.
