WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) – For the second year in a row undefeated Woodlan and unbeaten Adams Central will meet in the final game of the regular season to determine the ACAC championship.
One play determined the outcome of the last meeting between Woodlan and Adams Central. With Woodlan ahead with 16 seconds left on the clock, Andrew Hammond connected with Luke Voirol on a tying touchdown that pulled Adams Central within one point. Rather than tie the game, the Jets went for the win on a two-point conversion. Hunter Bates was stopped just shy of the goal line by Woodlan’s defense as the Warriors won the conference title for the first time since 1996.
Ranked No. 1 in 2A Woodlan will host Friday’s game at Etzler Field against 1A No. 4 Adams Central. NewsChannel 15’s Jessica Starbard will be live with Woodlan head coach Sherwood Haydock at 6 p.m.
