Komets top Brampton in final exhibition game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Komets bested Brampton 4-3 to wrap up their three-game preseason slate on Monday night at War Memorial Coliseum.

The Komets open the regular season on the road against the Quad City Mallards on Friday. The Komets then return home to host Quad City on Saturday.

On Monday it didn’t take too long for the Komets to get on the board as a Curtis Leonard re-direct just 33 seconds in gave the Komets at 1-0 lead.

In the final frame of regulation Shawn Szydlowski would find the net to make it 3-1. A Luc-Olivier Blain goal at 16:17 would cut Fort Wayne’s lead to 3-2, but Kyle Thomas would add an empty-netter to make it 4-2.
