FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort4Fitness will add a third event that will double as the kick-off to the city’s holiday season.
The Fort4Fitness Fantasy of Lights 5K will be held the evening of Saturday, Nov. 19 at Franke Park. The 5K course will be illuminated by the first lighting of the animated light displays of the Fantasy of Lights.
“With our very successful Spring Cycle and Fall Festival, Fort4Fitness has become the catalyst for inspiring healthy living through fitness that we knew it would be,” said Board Chairman and Fort4Fitness founder Tim Kenesey. “Greater Fort Wayne continues to seek additional community fitness events, and our Fort4Fitness Fantasy of Lights 5K will help meet this need.”
More than 1,000 runners are expected to partake in the event. They will receive hot chocolate, snacks and a Fort4Fitness Fantasy of Lights long-sleeve t-shirt.
Online registration for the Fort4Fitness Fantasy of Lights 5K opened Monday at Fort4Fitness.org.
“The City of Fort Wayne has been pleased to support Fort4Fitness since its founding a decade ago,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “With its award winning Fall Festival and its growing Spring Cycle, Fort4Fitness has enabled over 100,000 people to participate in two signature fitness events each Spring and Fall that showcase our great city. Fort Wayne is just as pleased to support a third event – the Fort4Fitness Fantasy of Lights 5K – that will help kick-off the holiday season at Franke Park, with fitness and with the lights of the season in mind.”
