Islamic center hosts open house for candid conversation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Universal Education Foundation Foundation Islamic Center of Greater Fort Wayne (UEF) is hosting its fourth annual open house Saturday to garner conservations about Islam and build bridges between various faith communities.

The open house, at 2223 Goshen Road, will be held between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The theme for this year is Islam 101: Get to Know Your Muslim Neighbors and will include a brief lecture, a Q&A session and a social hour that will include refreshments, according to a press release.

“We know there is a lot of misunderstanding and it is our duty to provide a platform for candid conversations in an inviting atmosphere,” President of UEF Dr. Gohar Salam said in a press release.

UEF encourages acquisition of Islamic knowledge and values, development of understanding and tolerance towards people of all faiths and promotion of harmony and peace in our community.
