WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) – 2A no. 1 Woodlan improved to 8-0 on the season as the Warriors defeated South Adams 36-3 in Berne. Tre’Von McCarter caught three passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns while Justin Durkes threw for 184 yards and two scores to lead Woodlan. Jack Rhoades rushed 22 times for 158 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors. Marcus Teeter of South Adams was 8-for-16 passing for 142 yards.
1A no. 5 Adams Central set up an undefeated showdown with Woodlan next Friday as the Jets handled Bluffton 55-6 to improve to 8-0. Drew Schultz rushed 10 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns for the Jets while Logan Macklin had two touchdowns on the game. Adams Central quarterback Andrew Hammond threw for two scores and run for two more. Evan Kitt hit Reid Wenger for an 83-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for Bluffton’s only touchdown.
In Monroeville Heritage topped Southern Wells 21-0 behind a strong showing from senior Jeshua Foster. Foster rushed 19 times for 95 yards and a touchdown. Heritage quarterback Jonathan McNeal rushed for a touchdown and threw at TD to Blake Rhymer.
Elsewhere in the ACAC Jay County beat Indianapolis Marshall 54-8.
