“Disturbance” leads to Tuesday morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A man was found in the street by police after being shot early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the 2700 block of Fox Avenue just after midnight Tuesday morning on reports of shots being fired.

When officers got to the scene, they found a victim laying in the street near the intersection with Guildford Avenue. He was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital. His condition was downgraded to critical there.

Police believe the shooting was a result of an argument at a house in the 2700 block of Fox Ave. A home in the 2600 block of Fox Ave. was also part of the investigation.

Witnesses told investigators that they heard multiple gun shots and and saw two or three males running from the area.

A K9 officer was brought in to help look for the suspects, but the search came up empty.
