Excise police arrest two men for selling booze from their home

INDIANAPOLIS (WANE)  Two Indianapolis men face various charges for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages from a residence.  Officers with Indiana State Excise Police began their investigation after receiving complaints about booze being sold from a residence located at 3112 N. Tacoma Avenue.

After getting a search warrant on Sunday, officers found more than 33 cases of beer and 418 bottles of various brands of liquor.  Police also seized three handguns, one shotgun, $4778 in cash and some marijuana.

Mossy Ivy, 75, Indianapolis, and Dwayne A. Ivy, 37, Indianapolis, were each booked into the Marion County Jail on the preliminary misdemeanor charges of maintaining a commons nuisance, unauthorized sales of alcoholic beverages, and sale of untaxed alcoholic beverages.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and further criminal charges are expected to be filed against the two men once it is complete.
