BUTLER, Ind. (WANE) – 2A no. 9 Eastside rolled to a 47-6 win over Fremont in NECC play. Conner Dove was 12-for-13 for 217 yards and two touchdowns in the air while rushing for 55 yards and a score. Aaron Dean hauled in six passes for 126 yards and a touchdown while Keezan Jarrard rushed 17 times for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Rhett Evans rushed for a 51-yard touchdown for Fremont’s lone score.
Garrett bested Fairfield 26-16 behind a big night from running back Cam Smith. Smith carried 19 times for 287 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Railroaders. Tanner Burns had both a touchdown pass and a rushing score for Garrett.
Churubusco earned a 42-6 win over Central Noble Friday night in Turtle Town on the strength of their running game. Sam Richards rushed eight times for 125 yards and two touchdowns while Garrett Horn carried 16 times for 104 yards and three TDs.
Elsewhere in the NECC Angola blanked Prairie Heights 42-0 and Lakeland topped West Noble 49-21.
In the NLC the “W Trophy” heads to Warsaw as the Tigers beat Wawasee 38-14 on Friday. Michael Jense was 15-of-26 for 178 yards and three touchdowns while Will McGarvey rushed 15 times for 122 yards and two scores to lead Warsaw. D’Andre Street added two receiving touchdowns for Warsaw. Noah Wadkins led Fairfield with seven carries for 93 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
