FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) There are 45 days until the election and the Allen County Democrats are defending Evan Bayh.

A group of seniors and retirees gathered at the Democratic headquarters on Decatur Road this afternoon. They shared their concern over Todd Young’s Medicare plan.

It’s the latest attack in the battle between the Young and Bayh camps. It started in May when Young won his primary vote. Bayh announced his run in July.

Today’s press conference led by State Representative Phil GiaQuinta and Allen County Councilwoman Sharon Tucker, featured area seniors.

“I strongly support Evan Bayh and his plan for social security and Medicare and certainly against the Congressman Todd Young proposal,” a retired teacher said.

The Young campaign responded to today’s conference claiming Bayh is trying to scare seniors with false attacks and touted an award presented to Young from AARP.
