Man caught on surveillance robbing Chase Bank

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police responded to a robbery at Chase Bank on Lima Road at 12:40 p.m.

The bank is located at 9105 Lima Rd. in White Swan Plaza, just north of Wallen Road.

Police have described the suspect as a black man, in his early twenties, with a beard. He was wearing glasses, a black baseball cap, and baggy jeans.

The man entered into the bank and passed a note to the teller, which instructed to her hand over cash. There was no display of a firearm and nobody was hurt during the incident. At the time, only one customer was in the bank. He was seen entering the passenger side of a newer model, silver Jeep Cherokee, which drove away from the scene northbound. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone that may have been in the immediate area and observed a vehicle and a person fitting the description given, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).
