Survivor of Holton Ave. shootings making a miraculous recovery

FORT WAYNE,Ind. (WANE) – The only surviving victim of the Holton Avenue shooting that left four family members dead has made an amazing recovery.

Cellphone video shows 14-year-old Trinity Hairston alert and talking. Family and friends are calling it a miracle.

Nobody thought Trinity would be contemplating saying ‘hello’ a week ago. She was the sole survivor of a brutal attack in her home on Holton Avenue that left her mother, brother, sister and unborn nephew dead. Authorities have charged Marcus Dansby with the killings of Consuela Arrington, Trae Harris, Dejahiona Arrington, and her unborn child.

Trinity was shot in the head and in critical condition, but now she’s taking selfies and telling jokes. Even finding humor in her shaved head.

She can be heard in the video telling family and friends that she looks like her dad.

Family members say she’s even taken a couple of steps, but there are many more steps still to come. Trinity has a long road yet ahead, but for now it is a day for selfies and smiles.
