Various drugs and cash found, two arrested after warrant served

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) Police officers in Mercer County, Ohio served a search warrant Monday and found several kinds of illegal drugs along with paraphernalia and cash that led to the arrest of two people.

According to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation by the Grand Lake Task Force prompted officers to request a search warrant for a residence located at 4729 Tama Road.

After being granted the warrant, police went to the address and upon arriving a man took off running into a bean field after ignoring orders from the officers. While the man was running, officers saw him toss something from his pocket into the field.

The man, identified as Andrew A. Leininger, 31, was taken into custody a short time later and a K-9 was able to find a pill bottle in the field that contained what is believed to be ecstasy.

Inside the home, police found the following items:

  • $8,000.00 in cash
  • Over 900 “hits” doses of LSD, commonly known as acid. The estimated street value of the LSD is over $9,000.00
  • Less than an ounce of raw marijuana
    Drug paraphernalia
  • DABS (DABS is concentrated cannabis that is made by extracting THC by using a solvent like butane. The result is a sticky type oil also referred to as “Wax, Shatter, Budder, and or butane hash oil”)

Leininger’s wife Ashley, 33, was also arrested. As of Tuesday morning, Andrew A. Leininger was being held for obstruction and resisting arrest, and his bond was set at $100,000.00.

Ashley M. Leininger was beomg held for possession of schedule I or II drugs, and her bond was set at $100,000.00

The case will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor for review for additional charges.
