ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) The former treasurer of an elementary school Parent/Teacher Organization was sentenced as part of a plea agreement on felony theft charges.

Genevieve Meyer, 36, of Hoagland, was arrested in March after an audit revealed a large amount of money was missing from the Heritage Elementary School PTO.

An investigation showed that between January 2013 and November 2014, Meyer used the organization’s credit card and had withdrawn money from the account. The total was more than $18,000.

The Allen County Prosecutor’s Office originally charged Meyer with two counts of theft.

Meyer was given a three year suspended sentence, all to be served on probation. She was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $18,599.08.
