FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition will host the fifth annual Pits in the Park event, which aims to encourage responsible pet ownership of all breeds and species.
The event will be held on September 17 at Friemann Square and includes live music, vendors, food, contests and will end with the annual “pit bull parade.”
“The money raised by this event goes directly into the federal non-profit organization and provides funding needed to continue our mission,” Fort Wayne Pit Bull Coalition Board President Megan Close said. “That mission is to improve the conditions for pit bull type dogs in Northern Indiana through education, public awareness, by providing resources for pit bulls in need and rescue.”
The event will also feature adoptable pets.
