BRYAN, Ohio (WANE) – A man from Montpelier, Ohio was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday, according to the Toledo Blade.
23-year-old Bradly Gilbert pleaded guilty earlier this month to robbing and killing Jonathan Hofner in October 2015.
The Blade reported Gilbert pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and a firearm specification. He will be eligible for parole in 2049.
Hofner, a 28-year-old man from Wauseon, Ohio, was found in a secluded area near the Saint Joseph River Trail in Williams County. Gilbert went to North Carolina after the incident and called police there saying he’d “done something bad.”
Charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery, theft, and theft of a motor vehicle were dropped because of a plea agreement, the paper reported.
