DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A 17-year-old driver was hospitalized Tuesday evening after she was unable to avoid a collision involving another driver in DeKalb County.
The crash took place on County Road 61 just before 7 p.m. according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
The teen, identified as Grade D. Moroney of Angola, was headed south when a northbound car driven by Teresa M. Yrlas, 54, of Fort Wayne tried to pass another vehicle headed north. Both Moroney and Yrlas swerved, but were unable to avoid a collision.
Moroney was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment of back pain, while Yrlas refused treatment.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Hamilton Police Department, the Hamilton Fire Department and DeKalb EMS.
