A hit and run was reported just before 9 a.m. within the Wells Street Mobile Home Park in the 3100 block of North Wells Street on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016.

Police said a female teenager was driving a red van erratically throughout the mobile home park and veered within inches of several mobile homes. It damaged planters and grass near the park office and struck at least two parked cars, police said.

The van was left immobile in the mobile home park and the girls jumped out of the van and ran off, police said.

A K-9 was called in to track the girls, police said.

One girl was taken into custody just off Clinton Street. The other was found on Spy Run Extended.

Police said the two girls were the only ones inside the van, which was likely taken without permission from the mother of one of the girls and not considered stolen.
