FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – In the midst of a tour of the Padres farm system GM A.J Preller stopped by the Summit City this weekend.
Speaking to the media Saturday afternoon Preller praised the TinCaps and the city of Fort Wayne for providing players in the Padres organization a great place to learn and develop. He noted that Parkview Field and the 6,000 fans that show up for any game give the players the experience of playing in a big crowd as they move up to Petco Park.
This ie Preller’s first visit to Fort Wayne since the Padres and TinCaps signed a contract extension for their affiliation in 2014. The contract will expire at the end of this season. A new extension has not yet been reached. Fort Wayne has been home to the Padres Class A affiliate since 1999,
