FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) IPFW is reporting the highest number of student admissions in the past five years for the 2016 fall semester. The university admitted 4,516 students which is the highest number since 2012.
According to IPFW, high school students made up a majority, with 3,200 students admitted, the highest number since 2011. Students admitted to IPFW directly from high school reached a maximum of 3,500 in 2011, fell to 2,500 in 2013, and have recovered steadily for the past four years. This year’s total represents an increase of 22.7% over 2013.
Admitted adult learners were up 62% for the fall semester. Re-entry students (students resuming their studies) were up 11%, and transfer students from other universities were up 4%.
Overall, IPFW has more than 13,000 students.
