Man shot on S. Lafayette St. upgraded to fair condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man shot in the 2800 block of South Lafayette Street has been upgraded to good condition, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at 10:05 p.m.

They found a man who had been shot, but it was unclear if the man shot himself or if someone else pulled the trigger. The man was taken to a hospital by paramedics in serious condition. He was later upgraded to fair condition by doctors.

Officers collected and photographed evidence.

A nearby resident told NewsChannel 15 there had been lots of gunshots in the area the last several days.

No other information was available about the shooting late Wednesday night.

The incident is under investigation.
