Semi strikes Indiana State Trooper’s squad car

DANBURY, Il. (WANE) – A semi driver was cited for unsafe lane movement after he swerved and hit an Indiana State Trooper’s squad car Sunday morning on I-70.

Trooper Scott Keegan of the Pendleton post was driving beside the semi pulling which was pulling a box trailer when the truck swerved over into the passing lane, striking Keegan’s car and forcing it onto a bridge deck wall. Keegan, age 35 and a 12 year veteran of the Indiana State Police, was checked at the scene for complaint of back pain.

The semi, as 2007 Peterbilt, was driven by Ronald Weber, 47 of Danbury, Illinois. The driver continued one mile east down the road before stopping.

A preliminary investigation found that Weber was changing lanes for merging traffic from the Knightstown exit when he struck Keegan’s car.
