Northeast Indiana showcases a number of tourist attractions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Indiana is home to hundreds of tourism sites, especially this year with the state celebrating it’s 200th Birthday.

Mark Newman from the Indiana Office of Tourism and Development stopped by First News Saturday. He said there are numerous attractions in Northeast Indiana.

“This area is just rich with assets,” Newman said. “It’s a very popular tourist destination for folks from all over. Top of the list is probably Parkview Field and everything that it represents. It’s one of many outstanding ball parks throughout Indiana. Indiana has more professional baseball teams than any other state in the country.”

Newman also said that this area has a great attraction for the entire family to love that doesn’t involve sports.

“The (Fort Wayne Children’s) Zoo here is one of the many special ones,” Newman said. “There’s a wonderful array of animals there and a terrific place to visit too.”

Newman also hit on other attractions in Indianapolis and across the state. To view his full interview click on the link above.
