Police: BP gas station robbed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police were dispatched to the BP gas station at 909 E. Coliseum Blvd. early Friday morning to investigate a robbery.

According to the police report, two black male suspects, described as 5’8 and 5’11, entered into the gas station around 1:15 A.M.

The police report said, one of the suspects was armed with a black .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun. The other was unarmed. The clerk reported that the armed suspect came up to the counter and pointed the gun at him, while the other demanded he open the register.

The police report said, the unarmed suspect pulled all of the money out of the register, while the clerk held his hands in the air.

The police report said, the same suspect then felt his waist and pocket areas trying to locate the clerk’s wallet. According to the clerk, the suspect found it difficult to remove his wallet from his front right pocket and gave up.

The police report said, the customer in the store reported that when the unarmed suspect behind the counter noticed him, he came towards him from behind the counter. At this point, the customer reached into his pocket and threw his wallet to him.

Both suspects fled out the front door and in a northeast direction on foot, according to the police report.

No other information is known at this time and police are still investigating.
