FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A motorcycle slammed into an SUV at a near-downtown intersection late afternoon Tuesday in a crash that briefly closed the roadway.
Police and medics were called just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a two-vehicle crash at Anthony and East Washington boulevards, just east of downtown Fort Wayne. Crews arrived to find a motorcycle down in the middle of the intersection and a white SUV stopped to the northeast.
According to officers at the scene, the SUV was southbound on Anthony Boulevard and ran the red light at Washington. The motorcycle hit the SUV as it was headed through, police said.
The motorcyclist and the SUV’s driver both suffered minor injuries, police said.
Dispatchers said northbound Anthony Boulevard was shutdown as police worked the crash. It was expected to be reopened just after 5 p.m.
