MMA fighter Jon Fitch comes back to Carroll to host clinic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – MMA fighter Jon Fitch returned to his alma mater Carroll to host a wrestling clinic for kids.

After graduating from Carroll and Purdue Fitch became a professional fighter. The 38 year old spent eight years fighting in the UFC. After being released by UFC in 2013 Fitch signed with the World Series of Fighting. Most recently Fitch won the WSOF Welterwieight championship defeating Joao Zeferino in April. He is planning on defending his title in a fight this October.

Fitch also fights to serve as an advocate for mixed-martial arts. He is working with other fighters to start a union and lobby for fair pay.

Out of the octagon Fitch is a husband and father to two young boys.
