US 30 reopened after crash east of Columbia City

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A two-vehicle crash along U.S. 30 closed one lane of the highway just east of Columbia City midday Tuesday. The lane was reopened just before 2 p.m.

Police were called around 1:15 p.m. to the U.S. 30 at its intersection with South 600 East, east of Columbia City, on a report of a crash. Dispatchers were not able to provide any other information.

Indiana State Police said a minivan rear-eneded a semi that was stopped on U.S. 30 at the intersection with 600 East. The green minivan was left with significant front-end damage.

Two people in the van suffered minor injuries. The semi driver was not hurt.

After the crash, police closed the westbound driving lane of U.S. 30. The passing lane was opened to traffic.
