I&M issues Pokemon GO warning

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Pokemon GO has taken the gaming world by storm in an incredibly short time and players of the wildly popular game that’s been downloaded millions of times to smartphones is not without its dangers.

The game uses buildings, landmarks and other locations as part of the action and according to I&M, some players have the belief that it’s possible to catch electric type Pokemon near electrical substations and transformers.

I&M advises that these substations and transformers are very dangerous and shouldn’t be considered as gaming locations. The utility warns people not to climb a fence or enter a substation and players should stay away from all power lines and transformers on utility poles or located on the ground in green boxes.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington requested that visitors refrain from catching Pokemon when they visit.
