FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department said neighbors helped awaken residents of a home that flames were spreading on an exterior wall.
A FWFD report said firefighters were dispatched to 601 Third Street at 2:09 a.m. for a reported house fire.
Officials said the an adult, a child and two dogs were able to safely get out of the home because neighbors were pounding on the door.
No one was hurt.
Fire officials said fire was found on an outside wall and was beginning to spread into the home. Crews were able to get everything extinguished in three minutes which likely prevented extensive damage to the home.
Fire crews reported moderate fire damage to the home and minor smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
