The News-Sentinel’s “All-Time Greatest” series to debut on Monday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Starting Monday The News-Sentinel will help answer the much-debated topic of best athletes in Fort Wayne history.

Next week the newspaper will begin its “Fort Wayne’s All-Time Greatest” series compiled by writer Blake Sebring.

Sebring has put together all-time teams in Major League Baseball, college football, and men’s college basketball made up only of players from northeast Indiana.

Every day a player on one of the teams will be featured on the front page of The News-Sentinel’s sports section. The paper will begin with baseball, transition to football, then wrap with basketball in a project that will take months to complete.

Sebring says his passion behind the project stems from fact Fort Wayne doesn’t have a sports hall of fame and that he wants to collect and preserve information related to the city’s rich sports history so it is not lost or forgotten.
