FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A national delegate for Bernie Sanders is running from St. Paul, Minnesota to Philadelphia, Pennysylvania for the Democratic National Convention. He ran through Fort Wayne Saturday.
Michael Gibino is running in support of Bernie Sanders. His campaign, Bino Runs 4 Bernie, is a 1,200 mile journey that began June 25. He’ll hit six states in 30 days, running about 40 miles a day.
In his campaign to be a delegate, Gibino promised to make this run. He said its about the issues.
“There’s a lot of work we need to do as a country to address income inequality, to address social rights issues, to address equality issues,” he said. “We really work on pushing that forward and that’s the message that I kind of wanted to deliver as I go. We have a lot of work to do to get big money out of politics. We have a lot of work to do to make simple human rights things such as education and health care accessible to everybody and that’s what this is all about.”
The Democratic National Convention is July 25-28.
