MEMPHIS (WANE) – The Memphis Grizzlies announced that Keith Smart has been added to head coach David Fizdale’s staff as an assistant coach.

Smart spent three seasons as head coach of the CBA’s Fort Wayne Fury, guiding the team to the first back-to-back winning seasons (1997-99) in franchise history.

A former standout at Indiana University, Smart hit the game-winning shot against Syracuse that earned the Hoosiers the 1987 national championship.

Smart spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat.

He has also served as an NBA head coach for three different franchises – the Kings, Warriors, and Cavaliers.
