Carroll’s Huizing and Schrensky heading to Olympic trials

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Two Carroll swimmers hope to compete together again this summer.  Not for college, but for the 2016 Olympics.

Carroll teammates and Northwest Aquatic Club members Ryan Huizing and Will Schrensky both qualified for the Olympic trials this year.  Huizing will compete for the 100 meter butterfly, and Schrensky for the 200 meter breaststroke.

This qualifier, set in Omaha, Nebraska, will be the only meet to determine who gets sent to Rio.  Hopefuls like Ryan and Will as well as former Olympic competitors will gather to earn a spot on this year’s team.

Schrensky will swim on Wednesday, June 29, and Huizing will swim on Friday, July 1.

On both days preliminaries start at 10 a.m. CST and finals start at 6:45 CST.
