Senator Coats office issues statement regarding gun control filibuster

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WANE) The office of Senator Dan Coats (R-Indiana) issued the following statement to NewsChannel 15 regarding the 14-hour long filibuster held on Capitol Hill regarding gun control in the wake of the mass shootings at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida:

Senator Coats is working with his colleagues to craft legislation that would prevent known or suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms, while preserving due process to protect the fundamental Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”
