LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (WANE) – Former Norwell standout and ex-TinCap Josh VanMeter has been named to the California League All-Star roster.
The infielder is hitting .295 for the Storm, the Advanced A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
VanMeter also has six home runs, 21 RBI, and six stolen bases.
Drafted in the fifth round out of Norwell High School in 2013, VanMeter played his first season of pro baseball with the TinCaps in 2014. He started the 2015 campaign in the Summit City but suffered a fractured fibula in second game of the season, causing him to miss four months of action.
