FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Community Harvest Food Bank’s distribution center located on Tillman Road will be renamed “The Jane Avery Distribution Center” during a dedication ceremony later this month.
Avery, who passed away not quite a year ago served as Community Harvest’s executive director for 19 years under which the food bank grew to where it distributed nearly 13 million pounds of food to more than 90,000 people annually according to a news release issued to announce the renaming.
“Over the past twelve years, I was blessed to work with Jane,” said John Wolf, Community Harvest CEO. “Her enthusiastic personality and warming smile are missed each and every day. This dedication is a tribute to an individual who treated everyone with dignity and respect.”
The dedication ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at 999 East Tillman Road in Fort Wayne.
