Body found in Maumee ID’d as homeless Fort Wayne man

PAULDING, Ohio (WANE) The man whose body was found in the Maumee River just east of the Indiana-Ohio state line in late May has been identified as a homeless Fort Wayne man.

The body of 42-year-old Steven Pascal Oliver was found May 28 in the river some two miles over the state line in Paulding County. He was wearing blue jeans and black zip-up boots and was reportedly “in the river for some time,” police initially said.

Sheriff Jason Landers said Wednesday that officials used dental records to identify Oliver. An autopsy showed no signs of foul play.

Oliver was last seen on March 16, the sheriff’s department said. He had never been reported as a missing person, according to Landers.

Anyone with any information on the case should contact the sheriff’s office at (419) 399-3791, leave information via Facebook, or email Landers through the office’s website.
