2A Baseball: Manchester falls to Frankton 11-7 in extra innings

WABASH, Ind. (WANE) – Manchester’s impressive run in the 2A state tournament came to a close Monday afternoon as the Squires fell to Frankton 11-7 in nine innings at the Wabash regional semifinals.

The Squires trailed 4-0 heading into the bottom of the third but scored seven runs in the third and fourth innings combined to build a 7-5 lead after four. Frankton added two in the top of the sixth to make it a 7-7 game, then tallied four runs in the top of the ninth on the way to the victory.

Frankton will face Lafayette Central Catholic at 8 p.m. tonight for the regional title.

Manchester finishes 11-16 overall.
