Baseball Regionals: Blackhawk wins title; Bellmont, Dwenger, Adams Central see seasons end; Homestead, Northrop, Manchester play waiting game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Depending on where their regional fell some baseball teams were able to play in their regionals today while some will have to wait until Monday.

Homestead and Northrop among the teams having to wait in the 4A regional in Lafayette Jefferson. The regional has been postponed to Monday. Northrop and Carmel will play in the first regional semi-final game at 11:00AM and Homestead will play Zionsville in the 1:00PM game. The regional championship will be played at 8:00PM.

In 3A Bellmont saw their second end in a 7-5 loss to Delta. The Braves end the year with a 17-8 record. Dwenger fell 3-2 to NorthWood in the second semi-final game at Bellmont. The Saints end their season with a 20-12 record. Delta and NorthWood will meet in the championship game at 8:00PM.

In 2A Adams Central lost a close one to Bremen falling 2-1 in the Whiting regional. The Jets end the year 16-11.

The 2A regional in Caston was also postponed to Monday. The early semi-final game between Alexandria and Lafayette Central Catholic was postponed in the 7th inning. That game will resume at 2:00PM on Monday followed by Manchester and Frankton. The championship game will be played at 8:00PM.

In 1A Blackhawk Christian captured their second straight regional title with a 5-0 win over South Central. The Braves won their regional semi-final 3-1 over North White to advance to the championship game. The Braves now move on to semi-state next Saturday.
