Officials suspect arson in vacant house fire

The fire was under control around 4:45 Friday morning.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Arson investigators are trying to figure out who set a vacant house on fire just East of Snider High School. Police dispatch said firefighters were called to the 3500 block of Walden Run around 4:15 Friday morning.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming from the front of the home. Crews were able to put out the fire in about 20 minutes.

The front door area sustained heavy damage causing firefighters to remove sections of the roof and ceiling inside the home.

At least nine homes in the area have been linked to arson including fires in the Blackhawk and Oakhurst neighborhoods.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department said no firefighters were injured in the incident.
