Auburn Dairy Queen burglarized in overnight smash-and-grab

AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) The Dairy Queen in Auburn was burglarized before it opened Tuesday morning by suspects that reportedly busted the business’s glass entry doors to get in.

Auburn police were called around 7:15 a.m. after an employee arrived at the ice cream shop to find the glass entrance door shattered. Investigators arrived to find that a burglary had happened and suspects made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Details aren’t known, but a news release from the department midday Thursday said Auburn Police detectives and investigators with the Indiana State Police and the IMAGE Drug Task Force identified four people believed to be responsible for the burglary. Three of the suspects are juveniles, the release said.

The department said the investigation is ongoing but charges against the foursome are expected. None of the suspects were named.
