FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE): A 3-2 victory over Elkhart Memorial Saturday clinched a second trip to state in just the last four years for the Carroll girls tennis squad.
Led by coach Kyle Stoffel the semi-state victory brings the team to a 20-2 record. No. 1 doubles pair of Mia Toscos and Dana Huck played sharp with a 6-1 6-1 victory to remain undefeated. A win from No. 2 doubles pair Kylie Bartkus and Hannah Wallace, as well as a 6-1, 6-0 gem from No. 3 singles Bailey Newman, also kept the team’s hope for a state championship alive.
Carroll’s young crew will face Jasper in the state quarterfinal on Friday at Center Grove.
