St. Joe Road Subway robbed at gunpoint

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne police are investigating an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant.

Police were called to Subway, 5753 Saint Joe Road, around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said two men armed with guns entered the store. One female employee was pistol whipped during the robbery. She did not require medical transport but the woman’s father told NewsChannel 15 he was going to take her to the hospital to be evaluated.

It’s unclear if any customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery.

No other injuries were reported.

The two men ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police canvassed the neighborhood but did not locate anyone.

No suspect description was available Tuesday night.

Detectives interviewed employees and looked for potential witnesses. They also checked store surveillance cameras and cameras on nearby buildings.

The incident is under investigation.
