3 hospitalized in 3-vehicle crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A Fort Wayne man was airlifted from a crash in LaGrange County with a passenger vehicle and a semi on Sunday.

Police and medics were called Sunday to the intersection of State Road 3 and U.S. 20 in LaGrange County on a report of a three-vehicle crash there.

According to a LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department report, a 1996 GMC Sierra driven by 23-year-old Kyle S. McCann of Fort Wayne was traveling southbound on S.R. 3 when he disregarded a stop sign at U.S. 20 and hit by a westbound 2003 Jaguar and an eastbound semi.

McCann suffered head injuries, a laceration to his spleen and multiple fractures to his lumbar and was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital.

The driver of the semi – 51-year-old Robert H. Weiss of Wisconsin, suffered back pain and was taken to Parkview LaGrange. The Jaguar’s driver – Michael R. Leland Jr., 31 – suffered a laceration to his head and was treated at Parkview LaGrange.

McCann was cited for the crash.
