Homestead, Dwenger, Blackhawk win sectional titles Monday evening

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – Homestead, Bishop Dwenger, and Blackhawk Christian each kept impressive sectional title streaks alive on the baseball diamond Monday night.

In 4A at Huntington University’s Forest Glen Park it was Homestead winning the program’s fourth-straight sectional title with a 7-3 victory over Huntington North. Luke Wilcox racked up five RBI on the night while Joey Deeter hit a two-run home run to pace the Homestead offense. Matt Anderson pitched a complete game with five strikeouts for the Spartans. Carson Wright hit a two-run home to pace the Vikings.

Homestead will now face Zionsville at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lafayette Jeff regional.

In 3A at Angola High School the host Hornets fell to Bishop Dwenger 3-0 as the Saints claimed their third-consecutive sectional title.

Dwenger moves on to play NorthWood at the Bellmont regional Saturday at 1 p.m.

In 1A action at Bethany Christian Monday night it was Blackhawk Christian over Fremont 16-2 the sectional title game as the Braves won their third-straight sectional crown. Blackhawk moves on to play North White at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Caston regional.

Down at Daleville it was Southern Wells falling to Daleville 14-5 in the sectional title game. Daleville will now play Turkey Run at 1 p.m. at the Carroll (Flora) regional on Saturday.
