Driver cited after going through stop sign, causing crash

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A driver has been cited for disregarding a stop sign after police said he caused a three-vehicle crash Sunday.

According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, Kyle McCann, 23, of Fort Wayne was headed south on SR 3 when he went through the stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 20.

Authorities said Mccann was hit by a car and semi-truck, which were both headed in opposite directions, as he drove into the intersection. McCann was flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne with head injuries, a laceration to his spleen and multiple fractures to his lumbar.

The driver of the car, Michael Leland, was taken to a nearby hospital with a laceration to his head. The driver of the semi, Robert Weiss, was hospitalized with complaints of back pain.

No other charges were filed against McCann.
